Attainment

The government will not publish KS2 school level data for the 2021-2022 academic year. The latest available public data is from the 2018-2019 academic year. It is important to note that the data from that year may no longer reflect current performance. 2022-2023 data will be shared when available for publishing; data is expected to show attainment in line and above national data sets.

The performance tables show the end of 2019 data, seen at the bottom of this page. As a school, we ensured assessment procedures were clear and robust throughout the pandemic and lockdowns with teaching and learning matched to the needs of the children. We continued to measure attainment and progress using previous SATS papers and assessment frameworks for the end of KS1 and KS2. During the Summer of 2022, SATS took place as usual, however, results were not published externally.

Key Stage 2 Results Summer 2020 and 2021

There were no statutory assessments in 2020 or 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. We carried out various assessments as part of our usual routines throughout the pandemic. As a result of these, the following results were expected;

2021 Reading Writing Maths Combined
% working at the expected standard or above 84% 74% 79% 75%
% working at the higher level 53% 42% 37% 25%

2020 Reading Writing Maths Combined
% working at the expected standard or above 79% 79% 75% 75%
% working at the higher level 38% 29% 25% 25%

Within school moderation to ensure the accuracy of our data, the following took place;

  • External moderation through the West Dorset Schools Collaboration
  • External moderation through Dorset Council events

Evidence collected to support the teacher assessed levels included;

  • Sitting of previous year SATs papers
  • Scrutiny of work in exercise books
  • Independent tasks with clear links to expected levels

The experienced year 6 teacher who provided the teacher assessed levels, has been successfully moderated by the Local Authority several times over the last few years. Improved teaching and learning, including assessment, over the last three years allowed the progress and attainment of this cohort to be closely followed to enable the children to achieve these levels, which were expected to be at least in line with National figures.

The most recent statutory tests were in the Summer of 2019. The results are shown below.
