Welcome

Welcome to Nursery

Charmouth Primary School has a nursery cohort that admits children from the term after their third birthday. This is part of a dedicated EYFS class created within the current set-up of the school and operates during school term time. This dedicated EYFS class includes children in both reception and nursery cohorts, ages 3-5.

The classroom is set up to promote learning using the Early Years Foundation Stage, the curriculum for this age range, and promotes a combination of child-led play and learning through games and play led by a qualified teacher and experienced early years teaching assistant.

Provision is available for the whole school day, with a morning session, morning and lunch session, or all-day session options available. The EYFS class caters for up to 11 nursery children per session, therefore with a maximum class size of 26, including children in reception. The school recommends a minimum of three sessions a week for nursery aged children to support them to be able to settle and thrive fully.

Uniform: The nursery cohort is integrated fully into the school and as such, children attending the nursery will wear the Charmouth Primary School uniform with the variation of a navy blue polo shirt.

Fees: Parents can use all or part of their entitled hours at Charmouth, with a fee for additional hours as indicated in the session booking form, which can be downloaded here.

Visits: Visits to the school are always welcome via appointment - please arrange via the school office or email office@charmouth.dorset.sch.uk
